A marine member who attempted to enter Ukraine after leaving the country without permission while on vacation was arrested on charges of 'violating military service' and 'obstructing the execution of official duties'.



A military investigative agency official said, "Marine member A was recently arrested on charges of escaping from military duties without permission by writing a false destination as if he was going home while receiving a vacation permit."



Mr. A left for Poland through Incheon International Airport on March 21 while on vacation and tried to enter Ukraine, but was denied entry, and it is known that he stayed in a local refugee camp in Poland.



After that, Mr. A returned to Korea through Incheon International Airport on the 25th of last month, about a month after leaving the country, and was immediately arrested by the military police.
