Although no more than four out of ten people over the age of 65 have taken the fourth dose, she is not worried and she sees several reasons why more people have not taken the fourth dose of vaccine yet.
- I think that those over 65 have a good attitude to vaccination and that we will get good vaccination coverage.
The sluggishness may be due to the fact that it has not been long enough since the previous syringe was taken, says Birgitta Sahlström, who is head of the regional vaccination unit in Värmland.
Birgitta Sahhlström also believes that a contributing reason why the 65-plus people are not stressed at the vaccination clinics may be due to the pandemic ending.
But she still believes that it is important for the elderly to get vaccinated because the effect of the vaccine wears off faster in the elderly.
