The question that aroused Åkesson's anger, which Expressen first reported on, was included in the test in history for year 9 and read:

“A Social Democratic debater wrote in 2017: The Sweden Democrats believe that we are living in the 1930s.

Which country's history from the 1930s does the writer probably think of? ”.

One of the answer options was "Germany".

"This really disgusts me.

Propaganda aimed at school children who belong to dictatorships ", Åkesson writes on Twitter.

Wants to call up DG

According to Expressen, SD now wants to call the Swedish National Agency for Education's director general Peter Fredriksson to the education committee.

This is because it is believed that the issue aims to link the party with Nazi Germany.

- This is completely indecent, says Patrick Reslow, SD member of the committee, to Expressen.

"Should be worded differently"

Anders Boman, unit manager for national tests, believes that the question should have been formulated differently to avoid misunderstandings.

- It can be misunderstood as the National Agency for Education making this connection.

That there would be some kind of agenda involved, he tells the newspaper.

According to Boman, there were also questions with political statements linking the Left Party to the Soviet Union on the test.
