A gunshot wound taken to hospital, five people taken into custody including a police officer who opened fire with his service weapon.

This is the result of a chase which started on Tuesday morning in Seine-Saint-Denis and which ended a few kilometers further, in Hauts-de-Seine.

It all starts with a refusal to comply.

Around 5:20 a.m., the police chased a Renault Clio which was traveling on the banks of the Seine in Saint-Ouen and on board which were four people.

The vehicle rushes towards Clichy, then Levallois-Perret.

A BAC car takes part in the pursuit of the Clio whose driver still refuses to stop despite repeated requests from officials.

It enters the Suresnes bridge then turns around to return to the quays in the direction of Asnières.

Two open investigations

The car was finally stopped in Courbevoie by a stick, a tool used by law enforcement and customs officers to puncture the tires of a vehicle.

The police approach the Clio with smoked windows while the passengers lock themselves inside.

One of the police officers present, a brigadier-chief, then broke a window with the butt of his service weapon.

A shot goes off, presumably accidentally.

An 18-year-old young man, seated in the back, is injured in the leg, in the left femur.

He was taken care of by the firefighters and the Samu and transported to the hospital, but his life is not in danger.

An investigation, entrusted to the departmental security of Hauts-de-Seine, was opened for aggravated refusal to comply.

The four passengers, three adult men and a minor woman, born between 2001 and 2004, were taken into custody.

The policeman born in 1973, alleged perpetrator of the shooting, was also placed in police custody as part of an investigation entrusted to the IGPN for violence with a weapon by a person holding public authority.
