Short range and shortage of electrical outlets - it is still everyday for many electric car owners.

Just over one in four electric car owners point out the lack of charging options as the worst thing about owning an electric car in a new survey that Mobility Sweden had commissioned among 1,000 electric car owners and which SVT can now publish.

Concerns about reach state that 21 percent is the biggest problem.

- You have to think about it, because you can not have a can of petrol in the back.

But if it's over, it's over.

I'm still on top and only take short distances so far, says Jessica Everitt who drives a smaller electric car with short range.

Hear motorists about the long queues at charging stations around the country.

Hassle with payment

More than half (54 percent) say that more charging stations are needed along the roads.

Just as many say that simpler and common payment solutions are needed.

- It is one of the major obstacles for those who do not charge at home or travel around Sweden.

They emphasize that different apps are needed, there are different ways to charge, and it is difficult to know how to pay, says Mattias Bergman, CEO of Mobility Sweden.

Prevents the car purchase

That it can be difficult to charge along the road is also a reason not to buy an electric car.

This was stated by nine percent of Swedes in the Nordic electric car barometer in 2021. This is an increase from 2020.
