At 11 o'clock on Monday, a ground fire was noticed by the maritime police on the western part of Värmdö.
- It's windy hard and it's dry.
Right now we do not have control over the fire, says Henrik Jynnesjö, commanding officer at Greater Stockholm's fire service.
According to the rescue service, the area is built with several villas by the water and it is 20-50 meters between the houses.
Several fire stations are on site, but the police boat and the Coast Guard's ship with fire pump are also participating in the extinguishing work.
- We are currently working to limit the fire so that it does not spread, says Henrik Jynnesjö.
No person should have been injured in the fire.
