On May 2, local time, the Minister of Army Personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Roman Gorbach, said at a press conference in Kyiv that day, since the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on February 24, the general mobilization order has been implemented for nearly three months. When the 90-day period of the general mobilization order expires on the 24th of this month, it does not mean that the general mobilization will end, everything will depend on the situation on the front line.

Gorbach said that if necessary, the Ukrainian leadership will extend the general mobilization according to the situation.

He said that the current mobilization work is still going on as planned, but the speed has slowed down, mainly because in late February and early March, the Ukrainian armed forces have basically completed the recruitment of relevant personnel, and now they are mainly supplementing the air force.

On February 24 local time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a presidential decree announcing a nationwide mobilization for a period of 90 days.
