It was in December 2021 that two men in their 30s, who are not resident in Sweden, were discovered by a patrol in Olofström and arrested after the police noticed that they were driving on suspicion.

Cartons containing a total of 68,400 drug-classified tramadol tablets, corresponding to 13.68 kilos, were found in the men's cars.

Both men have denied the crime and objected that they had no intent to commit the act.

Considered a felony

After the incident, the two men were arrested, on probable cause on suspicion of a serious drug offense.

But when the district court's verdict now falls, only one of the men is convicted.

The reason is that the district court considers that it can only be established that one of the men was aware of the contents of the boxes.

As the crime is judged to be serious, due to the large amount of tablets, the man is sentenced to five years and six months in prison.

The other accused man was released.
