The information had been circulating for several days.
But it was yesterday, Sunday, that the postponement of the inclusive national dialogue was first formalized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cherif Mahamat Zene.
The Chadian head of diplomacy announced on Twitter that the State of Qatar, which is sponsoring negotiations between the Chadian government and the politico-military movements, has requested this postponement to allow and "
to the ongoing negotiations in Doha with the politico-military come to an agreement
”.
A little later, the Chadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes an official press release to take note of Qatar's request, which joins that of many Chadians.
The political opposition and the rebel movements, in disagreement with the current conditions for preparing the dialogue, have demanded that they be reviewed, otherwise they will not be part of it.
We cannot reasonably hold a dialogue without the opposition, civil society and the politico-military, explains a member of the organizing committee of the inclusive national dialogue who says he understands this postponement sine die.
