China News Service, May 2 (Xinhua) According to Peru's "Gazette", the Peruvian government has approved new health measures due to the reduction in hospitalizations and deaths caused by the new crown virus infection, and the Peruvian Ministry of Health confirming that the third wave of the epidemic is over. The measures will take effect from May 1, local time.

One of them is the optional use of masks in open spaces in some regions.

So, which areas will no longer be mandatory to use masks?

The report said that in areas where 80% of the population over the age of 60 has been vaccinated with 3 doses of the new crown vaccine, and 80% of the population aged 12 and over has been vaccinated with 2 doses of the new crown vaccine, masks can be selectively used in open places.

However, KN95 masks or three-ply surgical masks are still mandatory on public roads and enclosed spaces in all regions of the country.

In addition, in schools, the social distancing rule of at least 1 metre can only be lifted after authorities have approved that 100% of capacity can be restored.

At the same time, the 1-meter social distancing rule must be observed in all other social and business activities.
