According to statistics taken by SVT, there are currently approximately 44 electric cars per outlet in Hallstahammar municipality.

The municipality currently has no decided plans to acquire more electric car chargers, but they have recently developed an attraction strategy.

- There are various points in the municipality that are interesting for new fast chargers, says Carl-Magnus Palmblad, energy and climate advisor to Hallstahammar municipality.

In addition to Hallstahammar, it is Kungsör, Surahammar and Fagersta municipality that only have one charging station.

While Skinnskatteberg and Norberg do not currently have a public charging station.

Few quick chargers are problematic

The fact that there are several municipalities in the county that have few charging stations is due to the market being less inclined to build charging stations in smaller towns.

Something that according to Jan Van Der Horst, climate coordinator at the County Administrative Board in Västmanland, is problematic.

- The vast majority of charging takes place at home, but we need public fast chargers in a reasonable vicinity for it to work well to have an electric car, says Jan Van Der Horst.

In the clip, Carl-Magnus Palmblad answers what risks he sees with having too few charging posts - and gets many.
