"At the duty pharmacy, we were advised to take her to the University Hospital since she had a fever of 41°C...".

The story of Ella, 5 years old, is told by her mother, on France 3 Normandy.

His family domiciled in the agglomeration of Rouen (Seine-Maritime) has just lodged a complaint against Ferrero, the company which produces the Kinder (whose French head office is located near Rouen, in Mont-Saint-Aignan).

And she's not the only one.

Their lawyer claims to have already filed or about to file half a dozen complaints.

Little Ella would have been the victim of salmonellosis, even before the health scandal and Kinder products were withdrawn from sale.

She had eaten Kinder eggs.

Ferrero has just launched an online complaints platform

In mid-April, a family from Val-de-Reuil (Eure) had already filed a complaint against the Ferrero company for “deception”.

A two-year-old child had developed severe symptoms of food poisoning and was taken to hospital where he remained for several days.

A bacterium called campylobacter, close to salmonella, was then implicated.

The little boy had also eaten Kinder chocolates.

As of April 19, 42 cases of salmonellosis "with a strain belonging to the epidemic have been identified by the National Reference Center (CNR) for salmonella at the Institut Pasteur in France", reports Public Health France (SPF).

The Italian candy manufacturer launched an online platform on Saturday to allow people who have been victims of salmonella contamination in Europe to report themselves in order to file a complaint.
