She noted that the proposal of the European Commission regarding the oil embargo "is not yet."

“But Austria is ready to support the oil embargo if the European Commission and the participating countries decide to do so,” TASS quoted her as saying.

The minister added that Austria "prepared" for this and in recent years has purchased "only about 10% of oil from Russia."

Earlier, the French government reported that a new package of EU sanctions against Russia is being prepared, but it will not be discussed at today's meeting of energy ministers.

Bloomberg wrote that as part of the sixth package of anti-Russian sanctions, the European Union may impose a complete embargo on oil supplies from Russia.
