The police are now opening the investigation into a woman in Surahammar municipality who was reported missing in January 2020. The police in Västmanland write on their website that they are looking more closely at the woman's disappearance with regard to the rape and the suspected murder attempt at the mining hole between Norberg and Avesta.
The police state that they have received many questions about the incident and another report regarding the woman who was reported missing in January 2020. At the time, the police took routine investigative measures but no suspicions of crime arose.
The police do not provide information on why they are reviewing the case again.
They cannot at present state that there is a crime behind the woman's disappearance.
