For the first time since the pandemic broke out, the Swedish people have been able to celebrate a normal ballot box without restrictions.

But from the police come reports of an unexpected calm evening and night.

- It has been clearly manageable, it has been like a normal weekend evening for the Stockholm police.

Slightly calmer than we had expected it to be, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson in the Stockholm region.

In Lund, three people were arrested on suspicion of assault, on two separate occasions.

But overall, the police in Skåne judge that it was a quiet ballot box.

At half past ten in the evening, the police received an alarm about a riot outdoors in Kalmar.

According to the complainant, about ten people must have been involved, but most had left the place when the alarm came.

An injured person was taken by ambulance to hospital, according to information, the condition is critical.

"Does not stand out"

In the North region, the police testify about some drunkenness and a couple of assault cases.

- There have been more cases than a general weekend, but it does not stand out in terms of the number of cases that have resulted in reports, says Åsa Mjörndal, the police's spokesperson in the North region.

The police in Jönköping, Sörmland and in Östergötland also testify to a quiet evening.

But in Gothenburg, the patrols who worked during the night state that they had a lot to do.

- It has been an evening with a lot of beatings and robberies, especially in the Gothenburg area.

But there have also been beatings and drunkenness in Halmstad, Varberg, Falkenberg and probably in Borås and Uddevalla, says Hans-Jörgen Ostler, the police's spokesperson in the West region.

- Then if it is because it is a normal Saturday night after the pandemic or that it was Walpurgis Night, I can not say.

At 01.30 on Sunday night, the police received an alarm about a suspect in rape in a park in Ulricehamn, writes GP.
