The spokesman for the Ukrainian General Intelligence Department, Vadim Skipetsky, said that what he described as the Ukrainian resistance is capable of undermining Russia's plans to establish the so-called Kherson People's Republic, as he put it.

Skipetsky added that Putin will do everything in his power to organize a referendum in various ways to say that the people of Kherson region announced the establishment of a people's republic and expressed their desire to join Russia.

The Russian forces are seeking to complete their control over the administrative borders of the Kherson region.

And Reuters news agency quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying that civilians were injured in the bombing of the Ukrainian forces on villages in the Kherson region.

For his part, Sergey Prachuk, a spokesman for the Odessa Regional Military Administration, said that the Russian missiles represented a real danger from the air and destroyed a large part of the city's airport, but he made it clear that the Ukrainian forces in Odessa are able to defend it.

Meanwhile, Maxar published new satellite images taken on Friday.

The pictures showed the great devastation across the city of Mariupol in southeastern Ukraine, as well as the industrial parts of the city represented in the Azovstal factory, the last stronghold of Ukrainian forces, the Mariupol theater and the train station.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the elimination of 120 Ukrainian soldiers in raids yesterday, Saturday, on a number of Ukrainian regions.
