The Social Democrats in Sörmland celebrated 1 May in 12 places.

Some were visited by members of the Riksdag, while Vingåker and Eskilstuna were visited by the Minister of Education Anna Ekström (S).

- We are in a very serious security policy situation.

It's probably the most serious thing of my life.

What must be most important is what is best for Sweden and Sweden's security, and there we Social Democrats will have a proper discussion and do what is necessary for Sweden to be safe, she said.

Different opinions among Eskilstunas residents

The Social Democrats must take a position on a possible Swedish NATO membership by 24 May.

Jimmy Jansson, chairman of Eskilstuna's municipal board, has previously stated that Sweden should not be alienated from NATO membership.

But opinions among Eskilstuna residents differ.
