According to previous reports, Trump and Eastman are likely to commit multiple federal crimes by trying to prevent the Electoral College vote counting ceremony on January 6.

Eastman is said to be involved in drafting "a plan to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election."

Earlier court documents showed that Trump and Eastman tried to hinder or delay the Jan. 6 election by pressuring then-Vice President Mike Pence.

The House select committee plans to hold eight public hearings on the unrest in Congress, the first of which will begin on June 9.
