"Tankers taking off and landing at high altitude airports are a high-risk subject." Li Wenfeng, commander of the army, said that compared with fighter jets, when tankers with large volumes and heavy loads take off and land at high altitude airports, the thin air and changing Airflow, low temperature environment, etc. are all "stumbling blocks" for safe flight.
"Taking off at high altitudes and refueling in different places are risky and difficult, but they are more in line with actual combat needs," he said.
In order to make up for the gap in experience, the unit analyzed and studied the unfamiliar airport environment in detail, fully anticipated and prevented special situations, and formed a complete set of risk assessment and training implementation methods.
After entering the training ground, they comprehensively researched and judged training resources such as personnel, weather, and equipment, and accurately calculated the theoretical take-off under different weight, temperature, wind direction, and wind speed conditions, aiming at the key factors affecting the smooth development of training tasks, such as low air pressure and high wind speed in high-altitude airports. Data, organize aeronautical education and teaching research in strict accordance with the requirements of the syllabus, and evaluate the technical ability of flight personnel.
"We focus on strengthening the ability of captains, especially young captains, to perform tasks alone. After each group of flight days, the captain and co-pilot interpret the flight parameters and write down their experience, and organize the backbone of the air and ground staff to conduct centralized recovery.
