When SOS was initially alerted to the accident at 03.45, it was a minibus that had started to burn while driving on Hallandsåsen.

Shortly afterwards, SOS was alerted of another accident at the same location - then a truck had run into the fire-ravaged vehicle.

- In total, there were six people in the minibus.

There was a total stop in a southerly direction, says Claudia Giare, team leader at SOS.

All in all, three people were initially taken to hospital by ambulance.

Two people died

- The rescue service sent five units to the accident site and as many ambulances pulled out, says Thomas Andersson, internal commander at the rescue service in Halland.

Just before eight o'clock on Saturday morning, the police announced via their website that two of the injured people had died from their injuries.

All are in their 20s and relatives have been notified.

"The truck driver was arrested at the scene of the accident, and is suspected of causing another person's death, causing bodily injury and negligence in traffic," the police write on their website.

- We will hold an interview with the truck driver during the day.

There is no indication that he has been affected by anything, says police spokesman Kim Wild.

According to the police, the third person has suffered critical injuries.

Others who were involved in the accident are physically unharmed.

In connection with the accident, the E6 was closed between the Östra Karup junction and the Hallandsåsen junction in the direction of Malmö.

At 07.30, the road was open for traffic again, according to the Swedish Transport Administration.
