In his Telegram channel, the governor said that on April 30, at 06:50, Russian air defense systems detected an aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“When taking actions aimed at preventing the object from entering the territory of the Russian Federation, two shells hit the settlement of Zhecha, Starodubsky district,” Bogomaz said.
According to him, the blast wave damaged the casing of the technological buildings of the oil terminal, and the second shell damaged the surrounding area.
Emergency services are at the scene.
Earlier, the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, announced the shelling of the village of Krupets from mortars.
