Worship service outdoors in Jönköping when church workers go on strike

The employees at Sofia Church who normally have the task of unlocking the church on weekends are covered by the strike, reports P4 Jönköping.

- No one else is allowed to perform them (the tasks) when they are on strike, says Peter Wickström, priest and supervisor in the church, to P4.

- We have tried to think about how we solve this in different ways.

It is important that we show respect both for the conflict but also for our mission to proclaim the word of God.

So in this situation before we have really gathered, we wanted to do it this way, then we continue to think about what is possible and not possible during the coming week.

It is not about circumventing the strike, says Wickström.

- I and those who are not on strike have every right to do our job.
