A number of countries witnessed the organization of marches in support of the Palestinians and their rights, coinciding with Al-Quds Day, denouncing the attacks launched by the Israeli occupation and the continuous violations.

In Iran, the capital, Tehran, and other cities witnessed marches on the occasion of Quds Day, during which the Israeli attacks on worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque were condemned.

For the occasion, the Revolutionary Guards displayed a number of its ballistic missiles.

For his part, Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian condemned the Israeli violations against the Palestinians and called on Islamic countries to take serious and urgent action.

He also called for an emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation at the level of foreign ministers to discuss what Israel is doing in Jerusalem.

support and solidarity

In the Turkish city of Istanbul, dozens of activists gathered to commemorate Al-Quds Day, and the participants raised banners supporting Palestine and denouncing the occupation measures in the Holy City and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In the capital, Baghdad, a number of Shiite and Sunni clerics, tribal sheikhs and hundreds of Iraqis organized a solidarity stand and march on the occasion of Quds Day.

The participants condemned the Israeli occupation and its continued repressive practices in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the rest of the Palestinian territories.

This comes at a time when civil parties and organizations organized a demonstration in front of the US embassy in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, to commemorate Quds Day and support the Palestinian cause.

Attacks and condemnation

The demonstrators demanded the United States to stop its support for the occupation and to cancel its recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

They also condemned the continuous attacks on worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The leaders of the parties and civil organizations participating in the demonstration handed the US embassy a protest note in which they called on Washington to stop supporting Israel.

On the other hand, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that new clashes erupted Friday between Palestinians and the Israeli police in Al-Aqsa courtyard, injuring 42 people.

The clashes at Al-Aqsa raised fears of the possibility of a new conflict after last year's 11-day war between Israel and Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip.
