In the message of the commission in the Telegram channel, it is said that it is ready to develop amendments to the legislation providing for tougher responsibility for propaganda and public display of extremist symbols.

“We see that now from abroad they are trying to impose on us, for example, an alternative flag of Russia.

We have already applied to the Prosecutor General’s Office with a proposal to recognize the materials promoting him as extremist,” added Vasily Piskarev, head of the commission.

Establishing accountability is "the next logical step," he said.

Earlier, Dmitry Petrov, deputy head of the Main Directorate for Combating Extremism of the Russian Interior Ministry, said that since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, the number of extremist crimes in Russia has decreased.
