According to Nordea, these are card purchases made between 20 and 21 April.

- It is a technical error that meant that the purchases were not deducted from the cards as normal and were not shown as a reserved amount.

Problems with Swedbank

Nordea's problems come the day after Swedbank was hit by a technical accident.

During Thursday evening, upset Swedbank customers began to report negative balances on their accounts.

Only during the late Friday afternoon did the bank announce that the error had been resolved.

The customers' balances would be adjusted during the evening, the bank stated.
