Ivo's investigation states, among other things, that the region has not planned or organized to prevent overcrowding at Sundsvall Hospital.

Something that in turn has affected patient safety.

Ivo is now issuing an injunction to the region, where 219 care places must be provided before 30 September.

If you do not succeed in this, you risk being forced to pay a fine of SEK 15 million.

Will you make it?

- We have no other ambition than to reach the care places we have decided and that is what Ivo points to.

The level we have decided on, that is where we are going to reach.

And that we have decided on it is because we think it is a relevant level and then we need to work really hard to get there, says Glenn Nordlund (S).

No sufficient action plans

Ivo states in the report that the situation with overcrowding has led to serious care injuries for patients and risks of more serious care injuries for patients.

The situation has been going on for several years without the region having taken measures that have led to lasting improvements and, moreover, according to Ivo, no measures have been presented that are seen as sufficient for the situation with the overcrowding to be remedied.

In the video, the chairman of the regional board, Glenn Nordlund (S), responds to that criticism, but also to Ivo's demand for more open care places at the hospital before 30 September.
