On April 29, 2022, coincided with the first anniversary of the space station core module entering orbit, the China Manned Space Engineering Office organized a review meeting in Beijing for the evaluation report on the verification stage of key technologies of the space station mission. As a result, it is considered that the mission objectives of the key technology verification stage of the space station mission have been fully achieved, and the engineering systems have been prepared in place, and the conditions for transitioning to the space station construction stage are met.
In the verification stage of the key technologies of the space station, the entire project successfully completed the first flight of the Long March 5B carrier rocket as planned, with a total of 6 flight missions in the core module, 2 manned spacecraft and 2 cargo spacecraft.
Recently, the overall project and the relevant systems of the project have conducted a comprehensive and systematic evaluation of the key technology verification stage from the aspects of key technology verification, functional performance verification of each system, organization and command, and operation management.
The evaluation results show that 8 key technologies, including long-term on-orbit astronaut residency, regenerative life insurance, flexible solar cell wings and drive mechanism, have been effectively verified; It has the conditions to support the assembly and construction of the space station; the functional performance and reliability of the manned spacecraft, cargo spacecraft and Long March 2F, Long March 7, and Long March 5B carrier rockets have been further verified and verified to meet the requirements of subsequent missions.
The evaluation results pointed out that the astronaut system has established an effective and complete crew selection training and astronaut on-orbit health, work and life support system, which can better support the implementation of subsequent missions.
The basic functions of the application mission and the core key technologies have been verified on-orbit, and it has the ability to carry out space applications and practical (test) experiments; all ground systems meet the requirements of space station construction and long-term operation; the project has initially formed a stable and efficient space station operation management with Chinese characteristics and organizational command system, with the ability to implement follow-up tasks.
The evaluation results show that the mission objectives of the key technology verification stage of the space station mission have been fully achieved, and the engineering systems have been prepared in place, and the conditions for transitioning to the space station construction stage are met.
In the construction phase of the space station, it is planned to carry out a total of 6 flight missions this year, including the Wentian capsule, the Mengtian capsule, 2 manned spacecraft and 2 cargo spacecraft, to complete the construction of the Chinese space station.
The whole line of the project will carry forward the "four special" manned spaceflight spirit, ensure the complete success of each mission, and achieve all the mission objectives of the third step of the "three-step" development strategy of the manned spaceflight project.
