We meet a concerned chief physician who is responsible for the risk analysis done at Sundsvall Hospital before the summer.

Fredrik Andersson says that the situation this year is worse than it was last year, when healthcare was considered to be very strained.

- It goes through the entire care chain and it is remarkable in the emergency department, he concludes.

Hard to help each other

In normal cases, one measure is usually that the hospitals in the region relieve each other.

You can not count on that now.

- Everyone has a shortage of care places that can not be managed together and we can not count on receiving any volume help from other hospitals outside the county.

Hurry with action

It is now up to those responsible to act on the basis of the pointed out shortcomings, he says.

- I assume that they are now acting hard and forcefully and really making sure that we get staff here.

Otherwise, it is worrying.

Working with actions

Regional director and acting health and medical care director Åsa Bellander says that action plans will be presented in mid-May.

She also says that intensive work is being done to eliminate and counteract the risks that have emerged.
