The Frankfurt AWO district association has extended the action for damages against the former managing director Jürgen Richter.

Panagiotis Triantafillidis and the former head of financial accounting are now also being sued, as well as former executive committee member Ansgar Dittmar and Hannelore Richter, wife of Jürgen Richter, who led the AWO district association in Wiesbaden and was a special representative in Frankfurt.

The incumbent AWO leadership accuses Triantafillidis, among other things, of having made illegal donations to the Wiesbaden district association, which caused considerable damage to the Frankfurt district association.

In addition, according to the new AWO management, he has not rendered any services for fees that he has raised.

The former head of financial accounting is accused, among other things, of not checking the factual accuracy of fee payments and personnel costs.

Hannelore Richter is said to have received around 221,000 euros between 2014 and 2017 on the basis of fee contracts, but did not provide anything in return.

Dittmar is also accused of having received a fee without consideration.

The AWO demands back around 1.2 million euros from Jürgen Richter.

Among other things, this involves a donation from the Frankfurt district association in the amount of 935,000 euros to the Wiesbaden district association, as well as fee costs of 182,000 euros for Triantafillidis.

According to the AWO, this process was the reason why the non-profit status of the association was revoked.

Triantafillidis speaks of harassment

Triantafillidis denies that. "The association has been revoked its non-profit status because the current AWO management was not able to answer the questions raised by the auditors, including with regard to the present invoice." He welcomes the public debate the district association.

"It's time to finally stop the public defamation of my person." Triantafillidis considers the lawsuit to be "unsubstantiated".

At no time did he arrange for donations to be made to the Wiesbaden District Association.

All in all, Triantafillidis is surprised about the "donation debate", after all the donation payments were initiated by the former chairman of the board of directors of the district association, Mr. Erich Nitzling, and have been common practice between the district associations since at least 2004.

The previous board members were aware of this.

The fact that Triantafillidis should be held responsible for this is pure harassment and is due to the fact that you want to create a negative image in public.

“This lawsuit calls into question a practice that has been known to auditors and supervisory bodies for decades.

It has also been accepted by the authorities for tax purposes," says Bernhard Lorenz, lawyer for the Richter couple.

For the first time, the role of Hannelore Richter in the district association such as the Johanna Kirchner Foundation was discussed without properly classifying her as an employee of both institutions under labor law.
