The two detainees from the Chambéry remand center (Savoie) who tried to escape on Wednesday were presented to the criminal court on Thursday.
As part of an immediate appearance, they both asked for a delay to prepare their defence, reports

Sent back to jail
The hearing revealed that the youngest, aged 19, was to be released on May 4 and could then have been deported to Romania.
That would explain his escape attempt.
His 29-year-old sidekick already has ten convictions on his criminal record and had already tried to escape from prison in 2015.
They will finally be tried on May 30.
The court ordered their continued detention until then.
As a result, they were sent back to Chambéry remand center where they were serving their respective sentences.
