The Subdivision Agency was a military organizational system established in the country during the latter part of the 17th century.

This meant that one or more farms merged and were responsible for soldiers whom they paid, but also a soldier's croft and some land to cultivate.

Much information about the soldiers can be found in the war archives in Stockholm.

- But most of the information can be found digitally, says Lars-Erik Käll from Västra Mälardalen's genealogist.
