On April 27, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference, and a reporter asked: "According to Taiwan media reports, the Taiwan military has obtained the 'consent of the US side' and will extend the runway of the Taiping Island base in Nansha, so that all existing fighter jets can operate at the base. Takeoff and landing on Taiping Island. Any comments on that?"

In this regard, Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, emphasized that the Nansha Islands, including Taiping Island, are China's inherent territory, and China has indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Islands and its adjacent waters.

The name of Taiping Island comes from the Chinese navy "Taiping" frigate responsible for receiving the islands and reefs in the South China Sea occupied by Japan after World War II.

Name the ship, remember the history, and declare sovereignty.

Both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to the same China and should jointly safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and safeguard the overall and fundamental interests of the Chinese nation.

Any attempt to collude with external forces and sell out the interests of the Chinese nation is playing with fire and will surely be spurned by people on both sides of the strait and punished by history.
