Recently, the Ministry of Public Security analyzed the characteristics of traffic accidents during the "May Day" holiday in the past three years, and issued road traffic safety warnings to the public.

  Judging from the situation of road traffic accidents during the "May 1" holiday in the past three years, the main features are as follows:

  First, the risk of traffic accidents during holidays is significantly higher than on weekdays.

In the past three years, the average daily number of traffic accidents and deaths during the "May Day" holiday were 13.1% and 11.4% higher than those on weekdays, with more accidents on the first, third and fifth days of the holiday.

From 19:00 to 21:00 at night, the accident fatalities were the most, accounting for 14.1%; the second was from 14:00 to 16:00, accounting for 11%.

  Second, vehicle collisions with pedestrians on urban roads are prominent.

In urban road traffic accidents, 22.7% of the fatalities are caused by vehicles colliding with pedestrians.
