A referendum on Sweden's possible future in NATO, it is a demand that now comes from the Left Party, something that Ekot was the first to report on.

- NATO itself wants to guarantee that the countries that join have a broad base in their population.

The Swedish people need this decision, they are the ones who will be exposed to, for example, being sent into war, being involved and making it.

It can not go as fast as it has done so far, says Dagostar to SVT.

If there is a yes in a referendum, what do you think about it?

- We will of course respect that.

The important thing is that there is a broad anchoring in what is happening now.

The party stands by its position that Sweden should not join NATO, something that is based, among other things, on the fact that NATO has nuclear weapons.

The party also believes that joining NATO would mean a greater threat to the country.

However, the Left Party is the only party that currently demands a referendum on NATO membership, after the Sweden Democrats have dropped their demands and reconsidered their line.
