The resolution states, "I am pondering the history of the fierce ground war, the subsequent rule by the US military, and the return to the mainland through diplomatic efforts, and express my determination to work on the promotion of Okinawa as a national strategy."



He added, "The government needs to fulfill its responsibilities to reduce the burden on US military bases, including the prevention of incidents and accidents, and should make every effort to realize a strong Okinawan economy and create Okinawa as a base for peace creation." I am.



In response to the resolution, Prime Minister Kishida said, "Okinawa has advantages such as geographical characteristics located at the gateway to continuing growth in Asia, and comprehensively promotes promotion measures while making full use of policy measures. We will actively promote it and realize a strong Okinawan economy. "



He added, "We will continue to maintain the deterrence of the Japan-US alliance, stay close to the hearts of everyone in Okinawa, and steadily accumulate the visible results of reducing the burden on the base."



In connection with the 50th anniversary of Okinawa's return to the mainland, the special committees of both Houses of Councilors have adopted a resolution, and the LDP and Komeito are aiming to adopt a similar resolution at the plenary session of the House of Councilors.
