The bill passed by the National Assembly Judiciary Committee did not include the Korean-style FBI, which was originally agreed upon by the ruling and opposition parties, to establish a Serious Crime Investigation Agency.

This raises concerns about where there is a device to check the ever-growing police power, but the opposition and opposition parties have been busy blaming each other.

Reporter Kang Cheong-wan reports.

Last week, the ruling and opposition parties agreed to the arbitration bill for the Speaker of the National Assembly, which included the content that the Korean-style FBI, tentatively called the Serious Crime Investigation Agency, would be launched within one year and six months, instead of abolishing the prosecution's investigation authority.

Instead of abolishing the direct investigation by the prosecution, the intention is to create a heavy investigation agency to fill the void in the investigation and to check the concentration of investigations into the police.

However, in the amendment passed by the National Assembly Judiciary Committee yesterday (27th), the agreement to install a heavy water service agency was completely lost.

Both parties held each other accountable.

The Democratic Party claimed that the relevant content was omitted due to the opposition of the people

.

We made that claim, but in fact, the People's Power put it in the supplementary rules or opposed it.]

The People's Power refuted that there was no such discussion.

[Jeon Joo-hye / Rep. of People's Power: The talk of the Democratic Party is different (from the truth).

I would like to inform you that it has not been discussed in the second lieutenant.]

The Democratic Party proposed to form a special committee for judicial reform in the National Assembly as agreed to and discuss the establishment of a heavy water office, but the people's power responded that they could not cooperate with the formation of a private special committee as the arbitration plan of the Speaker of the National Assembly was canceled due to the Democrats' enforcement of the bill.

According to the current law, from four months after the prosecution's direct investigation is abolished, investigations into the four major crimes, excluding corruption and economic crimes, will be focused on the police.

It is pointed out that the National Assembly has neglected to come up with measures to check the police authority.

In the struggle between the opposition parties and your fault, the original purpose of the scrutiny of monitoring and checking power institutions is being overshadowed.
