The amendment bill to the Prosecutor's Office Act, one of the so-called 'examination and overhaul' bills, was submitted to the National Assembly plenary session yesterday (27th).

The people's power was blocked by a filibuster, but the filibuster ended at midnight today as the Democratic Party faced off with a 'split session'.

The bill is put to a vote two days later.

When the amendment bill passed by the Judiciary Committee at the National Assembly plenary session held yesterday afternoon was proposed, the people's power immediately requested unlimited debate and filibuster.

Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong, who was the first runner, poured out opposing opinions for two hours, and

[Kwon Seong-dong/People's Power Floor Leader: Who in the Democratic Party was thinking of depriving the prosecution's investigation authority while imagining an investigation by the prosecution that does not exist and is unlikely to occur yet? What the hell did you do?]

Rep. Kim Jong-min of the Democratic Party immediately responded with an affirmative opinion.

[Kim Jong-min / Democratic Party lawmaker: Yoon Seok-yeol, prosecutors have confirmed what the uncontrolled investigation is saying for three years.

Oh, such an uncontrolled investigation is so dangerous.]

The filibuster ended 7 hours after the People's Power Rep. Kim Woong and Democratic Party Rep. Ahn Min-seok spoke one after another.

This is because the Democratic Party has 'split the session' to pass the agenda to reduce the session, which was until the 5th of next month, to 0 am this morning to prevent unlimited debate.

According to the National Assembly Act, when the session ends during the filibuster, the agenda is immediately put to a vote at the next plenary session, and the Democratic Party has foretold the plenary session for the resolution of this bill to Saturday afternoon the day after tomorrow (30th).

If the amendment to the Criminal Procedure Act, the second overhaul bill, is proposed at the plenary session on the same day, it is expected that a vote will be held at the plenary session on the 3rd of next month at the earliest after repeating the filibuster and splitting session again.
