The soldiers of the high mountain gendarmerie platoon of Jausiers (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) quickly found themselves overwhelmed on Tuesday.

The first came from Moustiers-Sainte-Marie and the other from the town of Annot.

Unable to intervene in both places at the same time, they moved to the first sector by helicopter to rescue a 50-year-old woman who had just broken her ankle during a hike.

The second victim helicoptered to Nice

The victim was taken care of by an SDIS doctor and airlifted to the hospital in Digne-les-Bains.

The other rescue was entrusted to the CRS of the Alpes-Maritimes, available at that time.

The police went to rescue a climber who had just fallen 5 m high.

The 50-year-old, suffering from back pain, was taken care of on the spot by the emergency services.

A helicopter then transported him to Nice hospital to undergo several examinations and treat him.
