Immigration is one of the Republicans' main points of attack against the Biden presidency.

They present as an imminent danger of migratory submersion the lifting of Title 42. This is a provision that makes it possible to repel all migrants from a country where a health crisis is occurring.

As the Covid-19 pandemic is global, Title 42 has been used for two years by the Trump and then Biden administrations to deny entry to migrants presenting themselves at the

southern border

.

But on April 1, the Center for Disease Control decided that given the changing health situation, this is no longer necessary.

A decision in the sights of the Republicans

The

Biden

administration has therefore set May 23 as the end of the application of these regulations.

Except that several states have challenged this decision in court and that a federal judge in Louisiana appointed by Donald Trump has announced his intention to suspend it pending a decision on the merits.

Elected Democrats do not hide their concern in this year of midterm elections.

For the left wing of the party, on the contrary, it is the right decision.

For the moment, the White House remains on its position.

She prepares to send more agents to the border to deal with it.

A plan which after the judicial decisions may have to be adapted, with a political cost which remains to be assessed.
