China News Agency, Beijing, April 26 (Reporter Ruan Yulin) The Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China reported on the 26th that the second round of the sixth batch of central ecological and environmental protection inspectors has fully completed the inspection work. So far, the inspection teams have received calls from the public, 16,041 letters were reported, 13,881 valid reports were received, and 457 leading party and government officials were interviewed.

The second round of the sixth batch of five central ecological and environmental protection inspection teams will be stationed in Hebei, Jiangsu, Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Xinjiang and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps from March 23 to 25, 2022.

As of 22:00 on April 25, the work of inspectors stationed was fully completed.

As of April 25, the inspection teams had received a total of 16,041 calls and letters from the public, and accepted 13,881 valid reports. After sorting out and combining repeated reports, a total of 11,694 cases were transferred to relevant provinces (autonomous regions) and the Corps.

Relevant provinces (autonomous regions) and the Corps have completed or staged 6,952 cases.

Among them, 1,299 cases were filed and punished, 62 cases were filed for investigation; 257 leading party and government officials were interviewed, and 200 leading party and government officials were held accountable.

During the period when each inspection team was stationed, it has always regarded promoting the solution of the outstanding ecological and environmental problems reported by the public as the top priority of the inspection work. Serious, lagging environmental infrastructure construction and other prominent ecological and environmental problems, verify a series of formal and bureaucratic problems such as inaction, slow action, non-responsibility, no confrontation, and even perfunctory responses and falsification.

At the same time, in order to ensure the effectiveness of supervision, we firmly oppose the "one-size-fits-all" ecological environment protection and the generalization and simplification of accountability, and the replacement of rectification with accountability, and constantly improve and optimize the inspection process and methods, and strive to reduce the burden on the grassroots.
