The former president of the Levallois-Perret basketball club (Hauts-de-Seine) has been sentenced.

Jean-Pierre Aubry received a one-year suspended prison sentence for presenting inaccurate accounts by the Nanterre criminal court, reports Actu Hauts-de-Seine.

The defendant was tried on January 27 for forgery, use of forgery, concealment and presentation of inaccurate accounts.

He was ultimately convicted only on the latter ground.

This close friend of Patrick Balkany would have integrated into the accounts of the Metropolitans 92 basketball club contracts with dubious reality.

30,000 euro fine

Among these contracts, a service up to 120,000 euros had attracted the attention of justice.

Jean-Pierre Aubry, former player and volunteer of the club, took on the role of president between 2013 and 2019.

In addition to the suspended prison sentence, he will have to pay a fine of 30,000 euros and pay damages to the club up to 37,000 euros.

The probationary suspension attached to his prison sentence is two years.
