Boel Godner (S) has previously clashed with his own party, the Social Democrats, over, for example, the EBO law.

But on the NATO issue, she does not want to precede the discussions within her own party.

- I will give notice as soon as we have discussed it at the meetings that we will have now here in the future, she says.

Boel Godner rejects that the silence of NATO-critical voices within the Social Democrats, and that she herself does not want to comment on the disadvantages of a membership, could mean that she supports an application.

- That interpretation must stand for you, now we will discuss this before we make a decision.

Södertälje's opposition mayor Alexander Rosenberg (M) welcomes the fact that the Social Democrats may now change their minds on the issue.

NATO is discussed among Södertälje residents

Both Boel Godner (S) and Alexander Rosenberg (M) meet in their election work Södertälje residents who want to discuss the NATO issue.

Alexander Rosenberg encounters some who show some understanding that Putin feels threatened by NATO coming close to Russia's border and that it should not provoke Russia.

- But I do not see it as a reason not to join NATO, rather the opposite, says Alexander Rosenberg.

- Many Södertälje residents want to discuss this issue and of course want to know where I stand, says Boel Godner.
