Investigation relaunched after the death of a man despite five calls for help

The case had been dismissed in February but could experience a rebound.

, the Saint-Brieuc prosecutor's office (Côtes d'Armor) will reopen an investigation into the death of a 51-year-old man which occurred in December 2020 in Lanfains.

The man died alone at his home after five calls for help.

The victim was however seriously injured in the hand, after being cut while cooking.

Despite a first call made at 8:30 p.m., the man had only received help from an ambulance around 11 p.m., and after four reminders.

Too late.

When the private ambulance arrived, the victim was in cardiorespiratory arrest and died a few moments later.

The prosecution had ruled out the hypothesis of a criminal offense

A quick investigation carried out just after the events had shown that a vehicle had been diverted at the request of the Samu on an intervention deemed more urgent.
