Died former head of the analytical department of the KGB Nikolai Leonov

It is specified that Leonov died on April 27 after a serious long illness.

For many years of impeccable service and the results achieved, he was awarded the Order of the October Revolution, two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of the Red Star and many medals.

In early April, it became known that the outstanding illegal intelligence officer, Hero of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Vasenkov, died at the age of 80. 

In 2020, it was reported that at the age of 82, an illegal intelligence officer, Hero of Russia Yuri Shevchenko, who obtained information important for ensuring the security and national interests of the USSR and Russia, died.
