An earthquake occurred in the town of Albertville (Savoie) this Tuesday morning.

Felt by many residents, the earthquake caused a slight vibration accompanied by a characteristic noise, reports Le Dauphiné.

According to the Alpine Seismicity Observation Network (Sismalp), the earthquake was of magnitude 2.1.

Its epicenter was 3 km from Albertville and at a depth of 5 km.

It caused absolutely no damage.

Aftershocks since March

According to Sismalp experts, the earthquake was followed by a few tremors of magnitude 1.3 and 1.7, the last of which was recorded around 10:30 a.m.

These are aftershocks, a normal phenomenon following a “main” earthquake.

The epicenter of these aftershocks moved to the town of Mercury, which had already recorded a magnitude 4.2 earthquake on March 12.

This last earthquake had not caused any damage either.
