On Tuesday, April 26, the United States organized a meeting with 40 allies at the American base in Ramstein in Germany to coordinate their efforts to support Ukraine's military equipment and enable kyiv to hold out against Russian aggression.
The most concrete announcement was the delivery of tanks by Germany, a "
major progress
" for the Secretary of State for Defence.

US Chief of Staff Mark Milley summed up during the Ramstein meeting the significance of the meeting.
The United States and its allies - forty countries were represented today at the Ramstein base in Germany - want to form a contact group which will meet monthly.
Objective: to strengthen Ukraine's military capabilities.
Alongside European countries, members or not of NATO, nations such as Australia, Israel and Qatar were present today.
The next few weeks will be critical for Ukraine and therefore there is urgency.

The United States yesterday announced an additional $700 million in military support for kyiv.
Berlin, which has been criticized so far for its restraint on deliveries of heavy weapons, has announced that around fifty Cheetah tanks designed for air defense will be entrusted to kyiv.
Training missions for Ukrainian forces will be organized in Germany.
Rheinmetall
has also asked the government for permission to export nearly 200 tanks and armored vehicles.
Berlin wants to respond quickly to this request.
