China News Service, April 26. According to the US Chinese website, the US Supreme Court ruled late on the 25th that it refused to prevent a well-known high school in Victoria from adopting a new admissions plan.

Previously, some groups said the school's new admissions program discriminates against Asians.

The high school, called TJ, changed its admissions system two years ago.

The goal is to achieve diversity in the student body.

As a result, the school has eliminated the requirement to take three standardized tests, submit essays and receive faculty recommendations.

The revised system also assesses students based on experiential factors such as their socioeconomic background.

TJ High School is known as the best public school in the United States and once ranked first in the national public high school.

After the reforms, the percentage of Asian-American students dropped from 73% to 54% of admissions for fall 2021, the percentage of African-American students rose from 1% last year to 7%, and the Hispanic representation rose from 3% to 11% .

The admissions reform at TJ High School has sparked widespread dissatisfaction among Asian-American families, who criticized the school for lowering the admission threshold only to increase ethnic diversity.

In March last year, several Asian-American parents filed a lawsuit alleging that the school did not maintain an "ethnic neutral" stance and discriminated against Asian-Americans.

On February 25, a Victorian judge ruled that the new admissions policy at TJ High School discriminated against Asians.

The school later appealed the ruling, and the Supreme Court's 25th decision was a ruling on the appeal.
