Commenting on Musk's intentions to take the company from a public company to a non-public one in order to sell shares only privately or OTC, Dorsey noted that this would be the right move. 

He also stressed that Twitter should not be a company, but a "public good".

“Elon is the only one who is best suited for this task,” the platform founder wrote in his microblog.

Earlier it was reported that Elon Musk signed a deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki commented on the acquisition of the American entrepreneur.
