The accident that started it all

The city's gendarmerie had been the target of fireworks mortars fired by angry young people this Saturday evening.

The perpetrators of the violence accused the soldiers of being involved in a motorcycle accident which left one injured earlier in the day.

On the contrary, the gendarmes claimed to have rescued the 14-year-old pilot of the two-wheeler.

Another district of Nangis was the scene of violence targeting the gendarmes the night of the attack on the town hall.

The soldiers again came under mortar fire.

No arrests were made.
