The State Public Prosecution clarified, through a film material that it published today on its social media accounts, the crime of impersonating a public job.

The Public Prosecution indicated that in accordance with Article 299 of Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021 promulgating the Crimes and Penalties Law, which stipulates that anyone who impersonates a public office shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not exceeding (5) five years, and whoever interferes in a job shall be punished with the same penalty. or a public service, or performs any of its business or requirements without being competent or entrusted with it, in order to achieve an illegal purpose or to obtain for himself or for others an advantage of any kind.

The penalty shall be imprisonment for a period of no less than a year and not exceeding (5) five years if one of the crimes stipulated in the first paragraph occurs by impersonating security or police personnel.
